To continuously improve the logistic processes, Franklin Electric has built up a new, modern logistics center for material stocks and shipments in Motta di Livenza/Italy (Coverco plant). By concentrating all materials in the new Logistic HUB, the logistics processes are even more efficient, the availability of the inventory has been further increased and the consolidation of shipments of all products are possible now.

New connection kits for cable extension

Franklin Electric is adapting its connection kits for cable extensions considering changing market requirements and the voice of customer and is now offering four kits with cable connection sleeves for cable cross-sections up to 95 mm². In this way, Franklin Electric wants to reduce unnecessary waste. However, this action does not only benefit the environment, but also reduces the price.

The following connection kits are available from now:

Splicing kit 10 - 308 090 930 - for cross-sections 1,5 - 10 mm² (max. cable Ø: 26 mm)
Splicing kit 25 - 308 090 931 - for cross-sections 10 - 25 mm² (max. cable Ø: 34 mm)
Splicing kit 50 - 308 090 932 - for cross-sections 25 - 50 mm² (max. cable Ø: 43 mm)
Splicing kit 95 - 308 090 933 - for cross-sections 50 - 95 mm² (max. cable Ø: 48 mm)

The new connection kits are suitable for all common cable materials, meet all requirements in terms of durability and offer high electrical insulation values and mechanical strength. As usual, assembly also remains quick and easy.

Franklin Electric continuously develops its products to optimize them for changing market conditions. To improve the application with Variable Frequency Drives, Franklin Electric introduces rubber pins on aluminum couplings for systems with 3 kW and 4 kW motors, frame MEC 100/112.

This modification will be effective from the next shipment for all EV pumps, pump ends and pumps and motors mounted with 3 kW and 4 kW motors.

Spare Part Modification for the Vertical Multistage Pump Series

Franklin Electric continuously develops its products to optimize them for all market conditions. Because the design of the Vertical Multistage Pump Series has been adjusted, the spare part kit has been modified and developed as well. Instead of many different items the spare part kit is now compact and fully assembled.
This modification will be effective for every EV pump model up to 4 kW.

In the new spare part kit the positions 20.02, 20.06, 20.07, 20.08 and 20.09 will be pre-assembled:

FN Series - New range of cast iron centrifugal pumps according to EN733

Franklin Electric is pleased to introduce the new FN series of cast iron, single impeller, centrifugal pumps according to EN733. The FN Series is designed and built entirely in Italy using cutting-edge technology in terms of quality and efficiency.

The FN pumps are completely made of cast iron, externally coated with anticorrosive treatment. The impeller is painted with a cataphoretic coating to avoid any corrosion. The motors are according to the highest standards of efficiency.

The product is available in several configurations in terms of compatibility of liquids, electric motor brands, special voltages and accessories (please see pdf download).

Upgrade Drive-Tech

Starting from May 2018 there will be an upgrade of hardware and software of the following Drive-Tech models:

  • DRIVE-TECH  3 x 230 V, from 3 kW up to 7.5 kW
  • DRIVE-TECH  3 x 380 V – 460 V, from 5.5 kW up to 15 kW  


Upgrade of capacitor

The electrolytic capacitors on the DC bus will be replaced by film capacitors. This will not only extend the product lifetime but also reduce the input current.


Sensorless Field Oriented Control (FOC)

There will be sensorless FOC controls implemented for three-phase asynchronous and synchronous permanent magnet motors. This has the following advantages:

  • Optimal current control at each work point
  • Quick and precise speed adjustment
  • Less energy consumption
  • Reduction of torque fluctuations (vibrations) for smoother operation throughout the frequency range and less system noise
  • Less mechanical stress on the motor, pump and hydraulic system

The Field Oriented Control (FOC) requires a tuning operation to be performed to learn the electrical parameters of the motor. Full communication compatibility between new and previous devices, when connected in COMBO mode, is guaranteed.

The updated devices are identified accordingly on the product package and the date code. All updated technical details will also be described in the manual revision which is part of the product package. Shortly all information will be available on this website.
