Release of PPC design for operation with VFD and hot water applications
As a result of extensive laboratory and subsequent field tests, we are now also approving the PPC insulated winding wire for variable frequency drive operation and for the use in ambient conditions up to 50 °C for all PPC-wound Franklin Electric motors*.
Continuous development and innovation is part of our company vision. At the same time, we place the highest priority on the Franklin Electric quality standard and absolute reliability of our products.
After we released the PPC insulation material as the standard winding wire for all rewindable motors in September 2023 following extensive production, laboratory, and field evaluations with various materials, we then started the next intensive testing phase. All laboratory and subsequent field evaluations were passed with excellent results and clearly demonstrated the superior insulation properties and suitability of the winding wire. Of course, the minimum requirements according to the operating regulations must still be complied with.
- Excellent insulation properties
-
Outstanding results in intense laboratory and field tests
-
Optimized availability and therefore faster process times
With this step, we are now also meeting the constantly growing demand for a technically suitable yet economical motor solution for frequency-controlled submersible motors. The change applies from motor date code 25F (June 2025).
(*except motors approved for ambient temperatures up to 45 °C)
Of course, the high-quality radiation-crosslinked PE2/PA winding will continue to be an integral part of our portfolio and will also be installed as standard in all synchronous and 12" rewindable motors. Motors with special windings are also still available in PE2/PA.
